This Florida girl's 1st pair of snow pants! I'm tiny, and I was concerned that the small was the smallest size I could purchase, but the velcro waist adjusters took away my concern, allowing the fit to be adjusted. These pants allow you to look slim (well, as slim as you can look with layers of long johns & sweat pants underneath!) while keeping you warm. Wore them for my 1st snowmobiling experience and wasn't the least bit cold while moving so fast across open snow & ice covered terrain. The pants are well constructed and the value was excellent. I will be ordering another pair in white.
I love the style, fit and flexibility of these ski pants. There's just enough stretch to make even crawling in the snow comfortable. The only thing I dislike is that the rise is very short. With ski pants I would like them to fully come up to my waist to help keep snow out when sledding.
Now I realize that there is some leeway when it comes to translating number sizes to SMLXL. So I used to sizing chart that said XL was 14/16. I've got countless pairs of pants that are that size range. Well, these aren't one of them. They fit so tight in the thighs, they were uncomfortable. The waist was huge in comparison, thank goodness for the Velcro adjusters, although I had to tuck my shirt in because the Velcro was scratchy. I happened to lose 10 lbs since I bought these pants, but that mattered little, they are still so very tight. I wore them on a walk, 28 degrees, and my thighs were frozen and squeezed the whole time. I suspect they were cold since there was no room for leggings underneath. I realize I should have bought a size up, but I trusted th size chart, and since I'm still losing weight, I hopefully will fit into these better soon. But BEWARE! If you're the upper of two sizes listed, then just go up a size. You'll otherwise be frustrated.
