I bought this for snowmobiling. I'm 5'3" 155 #. Lands end coats I wear a large. Because of layering, I bought this in XL. I could wear long sleeve t-shirt and fleece under it. Plenty of room in the body, but even with just a long sleeve t-shirt, it's a little snug in the arms and across the shoulders. Fortunately for snowmobiling you don't bend your arms much so worked out ok. As far as warmth, it was 10 degrees, sunny and 40mph wind gusts. Went across a big lake with snow blowing sideways and never felt it go through. Definitely Wind-Proof.
I owned a free country brand coat before this purchase so I decided to go with a safe choice in purchasing another for this winter. I live in chicago and our winters the last 2 yrs have been brutally cold. This coat is perfect for the season. Its thick enough to protect against the cold but not bulky. The size is true to what the chart says but if you prefer loose over just right, then go 1 size up. Great quality, great price. I am officially a loyal customer of this brand for my winter coat purchases.
This jacket is so cozy! The inside is soft and warm. Winter in the North East is long so will get good use out of this jacket. My only complaint would be that it doesn't have a double zipper to be able to unzip from the bottom for more comfort in walking/sitting in the car.
This coat runs super small! I am 5'3", 120 lbs, 34a/b. I usually wear a size 4. I ordered a large so that I could layer, as it gets well below zero here. It was more like a girls large. It was smaller than my Lands End small coat! Also, no phone/earphone pocket as in photo 2. Sent it back, would never order from this company online. Quality seemed fine- not a heavy sturdy zipper, though.
I usually wear a Medium but for this jacket, I bought a size SMALL. Tried on size MED, it fitted okay but under my arm there were spaces. Definitely will wear light cardigans/sweater this winter season. But like other reviews mention, if you're planning to wear some thick or extra layers under, do buy a size up. This jacket is very comfy and lightweight. Love the style. I usually wears jacket with belts and this style definitely gives me a belted look from the back and its adjustable on both sides. No more belt falling from my jacket!! Got em in black.
