    size way too small

I have had a Power Down Jacket for years, and love it so much. The size is Medium, and I have a 36" bust measurement. I am so sad that this new one is so small, yet it is also a Medium. I could hardly try it on. Tight sleeves, even with a sleeveless top. I ordered another one in a size XL, different style with an adjustable waist. I otherwise love the Power Downs.

    So far, so good

I ordered the large and glad I did as the sleeves on this are a bit shorter than the Zephyr I ordered a few years ago. This is not as tailored, but I needed a longer coat. It is warm and comfortable and a very pretty gray.

    Snug Fit

I have to say that I was disappointed in this jacket. I expected that a large would fit me better as I do wear medium or large in most other jackets. Also, the zipper is a little tight and sometimes comes undone from the bottom up. It also is not as warm as I would have expected a down jacket to be. Came recommended by a friend and that was the reason for the purchase.

I hesitated to order this jacket because of other reviews saying it ran small. I'm between small and medium (5.6 and 135 pounds). I took the risk and ordered the small. It fits great and I don't look like a huge marshmallow. So, for those who are concerned about size, look at the size chart and measure yourself (I'm 35 in bust), it's totally true to size. (If it serves as a reference: I wear small in Old Navy tops).

    Good, warm coat

I have had this coat for about a month now. It has kept me very warm. I like the style and based on other reviews I purchased a Medium instead of a small. I have 2 complaints about this product though and I'm not sure if it's just my coat or not: 1. the zipper is a bit difficult at the very bottom when trying to undo the 2 pieces and 2. I am always pulling little feathers off me. I can see them coming out of the coat at the seams. But overall, it has worked well.

    Love this coat!

It does run a bit small as I'm usually a medium for coats, but free country exchanged it very quickly for me and the large is comfortable but not too bulky. It is warm, covers my rear and looks nice too! Love it!

    Very nice!

I loved it. It is true to size and good-looking. I ordered dark grey, the color is as it is on photo. Definitely will order again from this site!

My wife loved her new long jacket

This is the second free country jacket I buy for my wife and she loves it. She is always colder than the average and she claims her jacket keeps her warm. And she walks outside a lot in the city. The only reason this jacket is not a 5 stars is because she was expecting this one to have the sleeve with the hole to put her thumb fingers thru. Kind of like a glove. Her first FreeCountry jacket has this feature. The brown colored jacket is not that brown, is like a mix of light brown and gray. I would say you can call it Taupe. She usually gets size small and this one has still room for thick clothes underneath so I think it runs a little big for its size. James.

    Good quality

Very pleased with this jacket. It is well made and has a flattering fit. True to size. The first time I wore this coat was given a compliment on it!

    Great Coat!

I gave this coat 4 stars because I know there are warmer coats out there, however I would choose this coat over probably 90% of the coats out there. It is a great length (I'm 5 ft tall) and it fits perfectly in the arms and the torso (I usually wear a small to medium size shirt). I bought the small in gray and I love the color too! It is very pretty and flattering. The flannel around the neck and arm cuffs is nice and warm and the fur around the hood is very soft. I've gotten compliments on this coat and I love wearing it!

    Strange fit

Zipper was somewhat flimsy. Fit was a bit odd: appropriately snug in shoulders and arms, yet much too loose in waist and hips. Started to shed feathers within an hour of wear. I returned this item.

    To tight through hips

The coat was beautiful and I really liked it while I stood however when I sat down it felt as though it would split so unfortunately I am still looking for a warm coat. I purchased an XL so I think I will look for a 1X to give the extra room in the hip area. The coat hit mid thigh and zipper could have been zipped up to allow room however I wanted something I could keep zipped as I spend a lot of time in an ice arena and its so cold. The coat was actually a 5 it was probably my fault that it didn't fit comfortably.

    Great Investment

I have lived in Alaska for most of my life and have never purchased a down coat. The longer length is perfect, and it super warm. The dual zippers are a plus. I would only say the only downside is that there isn't a drawstring for the hood so it falls off easily in the wind. Also, for those who are disappointed by the size, I would suggest checking the size chart. I had no issues once I checked my measurements.

    Free Country Coat

I actually searched out this brand online after purchasing a Power Down coat from Sears a few years back. The older coat was my favorite ever, very well made and the warmest coat I have ever owned. I was actually disappointed in the new coat. The pockets are so shallow that everything falls out when I sit down. There is no elastic or drawstring on the front of the hood, so the slightest breeze blows it off my head. Its much lighter than the previous version, so obviously not as warm. There are 2 zippers in the font so that you can also unzip from the bottom while walking... and it usually takes me several minutes and multiple attempts to get it coordinated enough to initially zip up. The inside pocket doesn't have a zipper, its Velcro that doesn't cover the entire sideways opening, so again, things fall out. Overall, not a bad coat, just a lesser quality than the older coat that I appreciated so much.
